The university gives utmost importance to research and development and has therefore established an R&D Cell to promote scholarship, motivate faculty members and young scholars to explore new and cutting-edge areas of research. The cell aims at facilitating research activities in the university, collaboration between academia and industry, and initiating students into research. There is a well-defined R&D policy in place. The R&D Cell of the university is headed by a director; Dr Sridhar Sanyasi (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry) is the present incumbent.

Within a few days of its establishment, the R&D cell has become active and vibrant. The achievements of our faculty members and students bear testimony to the shaping influence of the cell.

Research Policy

Objective

  • To create an organizational structure with role-based functions of RDC, formulate Research Policy for the University, identify thrust areas of research, and form related cluster groups/ frontline teams/consortia of researchers.
  • To create enabling provisions in Research Policies for recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment, and financial management with adequate autonomy to the Principal Investigator(s) and disseminate research outcomes to stakeholders and the public at large.
  • To establish a special purpose vehicle to promote researchers and innovators, identify potential collaborators from industry, research organizations, academic institutions & other stakeholders for cooperation and synergistic partnerships.
  • To act as a liaison between researchers & relevant research funding agencies, extend guidance in preparation & submission of project proposals and post-sanctioning of the grants to oversee adherence to timelines.
  • To have better coordination among other cells/centers dealing with University-Industry Inter Linkage, Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
  • To develop an Institutional Research Information System for sharing the status of ongoing / completed research projects / Programmes, expertise & resources, etc., making effective use of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for preparing the database of in-house experts to provide industrial consultancy and services.
  • To engage & utilize the services of superannuated active faculty/scientists in research capacity building of talented young minds and promote mobility of researchers across institutions and R&D Labs.
  • To serve as nodal center for ideation and conceptualization of research topics/themes by organizing workshops and training programs and ensuring the integrity and ethical practices in research activities including clearance of bioethical committee wherever required.

MOUs

The university encourages collaboration with industry and other academic bodies in order to not only enhance its own research profile but also strengthen research and contribute to society in a substantial manner. In the last academic session, the
university has signed three MoUs, the details of which are given below:

  • An MoU was signed between the Department of B.Ed. of Dharanidhar University and Department of Education of Ravenshaw University on 25 December 2023 to facilitate exchange of ideas and cutting-edge research, which will eventually contribute to improvement of quality of education in the state
  • An MoU was signed between Dharanidhar University and 3 universities, namely Harvard University, Pennsylvania University and Jawaharlal Nehru University to implement a project titled “Effects of Smartphone Ban on Students Outcome”. This project, which is being sponsored by Experiment
Protocols, will be implemented from the academic session 2023–24, and during the period January––June 2024
  • An MoU has been signed between Dr Preeti Manjari Mishra (Dept. of Physics,Govt. Women’s College and Dharanidhar University for implementation of a project titled “Helicity resolved Raman Spectroscopy of TMDC materials for applications in optoelectronic devices and development of Angle-resolved
