WORLD BANK (OHEPEE)

In order to enhance the academic profile of higher education institutions in the state, the Government of Odisha launched the Odisha HigherEducation Programme for Excellence and Equity (OHEPEE) in 2017. As a part of the OHEPEE, various institutions receive grants from World Bank under Institutional Development Plan (IDP) to improve quality of education, modernise facilities, provide access to better resources and strengthen human resource. The University (erstwhile Dharanidhar Autonomous College) has received Rs.3.44 crores from the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha under World Bank funded Institutional Development Plan (IDP). From the civil head, IDP building was constructed with Rs. 2.09crores having 32 seated 9 class rooms, 64 seated 1 class room, 64 seated 1 Central Computer Lab and 128 seated 1 hall. From the non-civil head of Rs. 1.35 crores, class room furniture, office furniture, books for the University library and furniture for two 300-seated hostels, TV, CCTV Camera etc. were purchased. The surplus fund has been earmarked for the purpose of installation of computers in the newly constructed Central Computer Lab. Proposal has been submitted to the Department of Higher Education for accordance of necessary approval for utilisation of the accrued interest amount towards upgradation and renovation of a mini conference hall.
