Department Of Economics

Department of Economics was established in the year 1967 with Economics as Elective and Hons intake capacity of 16. Subsequently, Hons intake capacity was enhanced to 32 in 1992. PG in Economics commenced by the approval from HE Department Govt. of Odisha with effect from the Academic Session 2023-24 with intake capacity of 16. The Board of Studies meeting held on 17th August 2023 resolved to enhance the Hons and PG intake capacity to 48 and 32 respectively from the Academic Session 2024-25 subject to approval by the Academic Council and Syndicate.

Academic greetings to the newly hoisted website of newly upgraded Dharanidhar Autonomous College to Dharanidhar University since 11th of February 2023. First Foundation Day of the University has been observed on 11th February 2024. The honourable President of India has visited Dharanidhar University on 29th February 2024.PG teaching facility has commenced w.e.f. the Academic Session 2023-24 with intake capacity of 16 which is likely to be enhanced to 32 from the Academic Session 2024-25 subject to approval by the Academic Council and Syndicate. The department has five teaching faculties, one Professor, two Assistant Professor stage III and two junior lectures transferred from Higher Secondary to Degree Wing.
