Department of Botany

Dharanidhar university being situated in a tribal dominated district of keonjhar , is primarily responsible for the development of full potential of the tribal students and it makes them active participants in the main steam of odishian life and culture .
The departments of botany of Dharanidhar University started from 1957, B.Sc. botany honors from 1973 and M.sc botany from 2023.The department is enriched with learning resources that make the students independent in learning .the department also have a botanical garden with various plants.

Botany is the branch of biology that deals with the study of plants, including their structure, properties and biochemical process. Our botany department is committed to fostering dynamic and enriching learning environment where curiosity, creativity and critical thinking thrives.

To provide a compressive knowledge on various aspects related to plants.
To deliver knowledge on latest development in the field of plant science with a practical approach.
To produce a student who things independently, critically and discuss various aspects of plant life.
To produce well trained careers inculcate the concept of conservation of biodiversity.

Mission

To impart knowledge of the plant science that will intensify the understanding about the plant earth, providing all inclusive approach on innovative teaching, entrepreneurship, skill and research with social ethics that reaches society with a focus on plants and their role in balancing and protecting the environment.
